Pittsburg, Kansas — Crawford County Mental Health Center is excited to share that a new gazebo now stands at FACT, Inc.’s Nature Preserve. This structure offers shade and shelter, creating a more comfortable space for clients and visitors to relax and enjoy the outdoors.
Spending time in nature offers proven benefits. It supports mental health, boosts learning and development in children, and encourages positive behavior. Outdoor programs can also help those with behavioral disorders and reduce antisocial tendencies. As a result, nature continues to play a valuable role in healing and growth.
This project — “Here Comes the Sun: Providing Shelter at the Nature Preserve”— became a reality thanks to a grant from the General Funds – Youth Activities program through the Community Foundation of Southeast Kansas (CFSEK). Their generous support made the addition possible.
We are sincerely grateful to CFSEK for investing in mental health services and wellness in Southeast Kansas. The Foundation manages charitable funds for donors who are passionate about making a difference. Their grants help strengthen families and communities throughout the region.
