Pittsburg, Kansas — Crawford County Mental Health Center (CCMHC) is pleased to announce the relocation of its Same Day Access and Substance Use Disorder Treatment services to the Richard H. Pfeiffer Recovery Complex, located at 3103 N. Michigan Street in Pittsburg, Kansas. This move, effective October 1, 2024, underscores CCMHC’s commitment to enhancing accessibility and delivering high-quality mental health and substance use disorder treatment to the community.

In August, CCMHC completed construction on a new state-of-the-art Addiction Treatment Center, which also features a Crisis Stabilization Unit. This cutting-edge facility, equipped with modern amenities, offers an expanded and modernized space designed to provide a more comfortable and private environment for individuals seeking immediate and comprehensive substance use disorder support.

The new Addiction Treatment Center is connected to the existing annex building at the Richard H. Pfeiffer Recovery Complex, which will now be the new home of CCMHC’s Same Day Access services. This integration allows CCMHC to streamline operations and enhance the delivery of Crisis Services, Substance Use Disorder Treatment, and mental health support, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for those in need.

“We are excited to move Same Day Access and Substance Use Disorder services to the Richard H. Pfeiffer Recovery Complex. This provides one central access point for clients in our community.  Clients will walk through our doors and be connected to the appropriate care to meet their needs, in one location.  This removes barriers to treatment in our community and allows us to capitalize on operational efficiencies to improve and expand our services,” said Heather McCully, Executive Director of Crawford County Mental Health Center. “Our priority is to ensure that individuals in need of mental health and substance use disorder services have easy access to the support they need. This new facility represents our ongoing commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our community.”

Same Day Access provides walk-in appointments for initial assessments, screenings, and referrals, which decreases the wait time to access mental health and substance use treatment services. By reducing delays and improving access, Same Day Access helps individuals receive prompt support and enhances overall treatment outcomes. Same Day Access is available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The Same Day Access clinic opened in March 2023 and to date has served over 1250 clients.

Beginning on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, CCMHC will begin providing Same Day Access and Substance Use Disorder Treatment services at 3103 N. Michigan Street in Pittsburg, Kansas. The current location of the Same Day Access Clinic at 911 E. Centennial in Pittsburg, Kansas, will remain fully operational and continue to provide medication management and adult outpatient therapy and services.
